Crutches be gone...

I have been completely off my crutches for a little over a week now. Yay! Don't get me wrong - I am thankful that I had them so I was able to have at least limited mobility - but they really are uncomfortable. Of course, I am sure it didn't help one iota that I was attempting to haul my fat fanny around on two sticks... Not only difficult, but I am sure quite the site to see. Yikes! Count yourself lucky that you didn't have to witness it! LOL! On the plus side though, I did lose almost 12 pounds while I was on crutches... the benefit of hauling my fat fanny around!

My ankle and foot are still quite bruised and tender so I have to be very aware - especially when I step up/down curbs and stairs. But, it is getting better each day - especially when I do the excercises my doctor gave me at my last appointment. It is still going to be awhile before I will be able to give it my all when I do my Tae Bo tapes but, I am on the mend...

Yay, for crutches being gone. But yay, to have them when needed.
Beleive it or not, (and you will) we have a pair of aluminum crutches that we have had for 15 or 20 years that has been checked out to nearly every family in both of our Dallas wards. It is great to be needed. LOL
I'm not surprised that the bruising is still evident. I have seen that same injury in several of my children, several times. Dang it!
Let me guess, you are supposed to write the alphabet in the air with your foot, and possibly a sitting leg lift to strengthen the thigh muscle that strengthens the knee and ankle.
Take several anti-inflamatory pills daily with food and water and RICE rest-ice-compression and exercise. Or something like that.
Happy healing, and happy Tae Bo.
Love ya Mom
